Hey Everyone! 👋
Happy Holidays! 🎁
Welcome back to my newsletter, today we’re going to be looking over the month of December! Hope all of you had a productive month and are enjoying the holidays with your families.
If it’s your first time here, my name is Jayant Arora and I’m a 16-year-old Innovator at The Knowledge Society (TKS) in Toronto, Canada.
Well, you might be wondering what I did this month. Let’s get right to it!
Mindset 🧠
In December, when attempting to learn new things, I tried to make sure I knew the reason behind all my actions. I would ask myself “if I do this, do I get closer to achieving my goal? Or am I doing this for the sake of doing it?” I was being intentional about what I did.
“Every single moment shapes our future. Be intentional. Live on purpose!”
What does it mean to be intentional? What are the benefits? 🧐
Being intentional means that you have a clear purpose and are conscious of taking actions that help you get closer to achieving your end goal. When being intentional, you choose to create environments in which there are clear purposes that are meaningful to you.
Every day, you move forward with the intention of achieving the result you want.
You are more focused on what is important to you.
Steps to being more intentional in your everyday life:
Be clear about the result you want ✅
This helps you be intentional about what you’re doing, and you’ll know the reasoning behind each action you take.
Be purposeful and organized with your time ⌛
You can do this by creating a schedule for each day the night before - creating an outline of what you want to get done early on will help you clearly see the steps you need to take in order to achieve your goal, as opposed to just “winging” your day.
Creating Content ✏️
As I mentioned in last month’s newsletter, I wanted to publish an article on the topic of Brain-Computer Interfaces. This month, I wrote an article on The Basics of Brain-Computer Interfaces. Click here to read my article!
Instacart - Pt.2 🥕
As mentioned in my previous newsletter, a group of friends and I worked together to develop a recommendation deck regarding ways Instacart could improve their customer service and overall customer experience. Click here to check it out!
Instacart is a multi-billion dollar company that focuses on providing grocery and other essential items to people from the comfort of their homes.
Unfortunately, we were not selected as one of the top teams, but here is my key takeaway from the process 🔑:
Importance of meeting people in the industry 🏭
o Throughout the process of developing a recommendation deck, my group and I managed to get information from Instacart executives to help us in our task. This was very helpful because we got a further understanding on what the company was about and this assisted us in finding answers to our questions. In general, meetings with people in the industry can be very helpful when you want to learn more about anything.
Goals for January 2021 👀
It’s that time of the year - the time when everyone is saying “New Year, New Me!” 📆
Here are some of the goals I’ve set for January 2021, hoping to get a positive start to the year:
Release another article and start working on a project on BCIs
Write a newsletter for the month of January
Explore a few topics I am interested in (such as Gene Editing) and get a basic understanding of them
Anyway, that’s it for me - wishing you all a Happy New Year! 🎉 Hoping everyone does well in 2021!
Regards,
Jayant Arora
